SUMMARY:Performance - Scholar's Record
DESCRIPTION:75 Jahre SWR bei den Donaueschinger Musiktagen – die britisch
gangenheit\, Gegenwart und Zukunft verschmelzen.\n\n75 years of SWR at the
Donaueschinger Musiktage: British composer and turntable performer Mariam
Rezaei has taken this anniversary as a starting point to explore the exte
nsive SWR archive of recordings from the festival and compose a new perfor
mance for four turntables. Inspired by Asian «scholar’s rocks»\, she t
reats recordings and phonograph records as sacred objects to sample them t
hrough different lenses. The palace of the Duke of Fürstenberg\, whose gr
eat-great-grandfather founded the festival in 1921\, provides the majestic
setting for this nocturnal performance merging past\, present and future.
