DESCRIPTION:Wie kaum ein anderes Instrument steht die Mundharmonika für no
 rdamerikanische Folk Music. Der weltweit bekannteste Mundharmonikaherstell
 er Hohner wiederum befindet sich nur 25 Kilometer von Donaueschingen entfe
 rnt in Trossingen und exportierte schon im Jahr 1879 60% seiner Produktion
  in die USA. Von Trossingen über die USA kommt die Mundharmonika durch de
 n New Yorker Komponisten Tristan Perich zu den Donaueschinger Musiktagen m
 it seinem neuen Werk für fünf Mundharmonikas und 1-bit-Elektronik. Seit 
 vielen Jahren beschäftigt sich Perich mit den Überschneidungen der physi
 kalischen und abstrakten Dimensionen von Technologie und verbindet in sein
 em neuen Stück die Klangfülle der Mundharmonika mit den scharfen Klänge
 n von 1-bit-Elektronik.\n\nThe harmonica epitomises North American folk mu
 sic like few other instruments. Yet\, the world’s most well-known harmon
 ica manufacturer\, Hohner\, is located just 25 kilometres from Donaueschin
 gen in Trossingen\, from where it exported 60% of its production to the US
  as early as 1879. From Trossingen\, via the US\, the harmonica comes to D
 onaueschinger Musiktage through the work of New York composer Tristan Peri
 ch in his new work for five harmonicas and 1-bit electronics. For many yea
 rs\, Perich has been exploring the intersection of the physical and abstra
 ct worlds of technology and his new piece combines the rich sonority of th
 e harmonica with the sharp sounds of 1-bit electronics.\n\nHANATSUmiroir\n
